Antonia Lofaso

Chef Antonia Lofaso's culinary creations are an invitation to dive into deep into her inner world. Her curiosity grew as she left the Long Island suburbs to explore the rich cultural diversity of Los Angeles. She believes of the fact that cavatelli and carnitas are able to coexist in harmony on a single menu portrays a style that continues to evolve. All of her dishes are filled with her unique perspective for the future but also with a nostalgic look at the old. Scopa Italian Roots, which Lofaso established in 2013 was a huge success due to the fact that it was influenced by her Italian roots. The restaurant's take on classic Italian has been acclaimed by critics as being one of the top places to enjoy Italian food in Los Angeles. Lofaso is described by many as a local restaurant that consistently serves dishes that are authentic, tasty and inviting. Lofaso studied from chefs with sophisticated cooking techniques. But, she didn't hesitate to take extreme chances to honor her intuition. She quickly rose through the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago, and then went into working closely with celebs in several Los Angeles kitchens. In 2011 Lofaso partnered together with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi to debut Black Market Liquor Bar in Studio City. Lofaso had found home in the Black Market. Lofaso achieved the creativity she craved by working with her. Black Market does not have one direction that's the intention. It could start with chip dill, followed by shishitos peppers. Following that is an Korean wing and finally a meatball course. The underlying ingredient in this dazzling variety of tastes is Antonia. Through her entire career, Lofaso has measured her success by her innate ability to understand her audience and remain true to her own personality. She's been on of many television shows, such as Top Chef Chicago, Top Chef: All Stars and Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child on The Food Network and ABC's Real O'neals. Her talents continue to be recognized as a judge on CNBC's Restaurant Startup. Lofaso teamed with Penguin to release The Busy mom's Cookbook 100 Recipes for Quick Delicious home-cooked Meals in the year 2012. This book also reveals the story of her struggle when raising Xea as well as her studies in The French Culinary Institute. Lofaso says that the inspiration for her achievements is derived from her kitchen. This is how she maintains a constant pulse on current events. She is revolutionizing her industry's design by creating chef's wear with a focus on style and function by launching her brand Chefletics. The main goal of Lofaso is to remain in line with her mission. To achieve this goal she has launched Antonia Lofaso Catering. This will provide clients with an extremely personal experience.
